“The biggest challenge that we were looking to solve by engaging China Manufacturing Connect (Electronics Manufacturing) was purely how to manufacture overseas, and do it in a way that was going to protect our IP, negotiate in a foreign language that we didn’t understand, and wouldn’t even know how to go about, and also competitively source with different manufacturers and different component suppliers. These are all relationships that we didn’t have at all. The business was very fresh, we had only been operating for a couple of months, needed to manufacture a brand new product so we didn’t even know how to go about doing any of that. And that’s why we were looking for someone like Dennis and his team to essentially act as that liaison for us.
So one of the things that we were worried about, before we engaged China Connect (Electronics Manufacturing), was how to actually negotiate with an overseas manufacturing supply chain. We didn’t have feet on the ground, and we didn’t have any internal knowledge of the way to do business in China. So for us, it was imperative that we had somebody who had that knowledge and skills and could go to bat for us.
So something that really surprised us, when we were engaging with China Manufacturing Connect (Electronics Manufacturing), was the professionalism and the transparency. We obviously have no exposure to how operating overseas was prior to dealing with Dennis and his team, but we feel completely at peace and comfortable with the way that Dennis handles our interests over there, both from a protection of intellectual property perspective but also from looking after our bottom line as far as negotiating the best deals, negotiating the most competitive pricing when it comes to both labour and hard costs as well.
One thing about engaging China Manufacturing Connect (Electronics Manufacturing) is that it’s not only assisted us in a positive way at the start of our business journey, as a new start up rapidly scaling, we needed to rely on somebody to help us in that department, but moving forward it has set us up to scale. So we have a very complicated product, it has lots of bits and pieces in there, difficult to source components, and for us we needed to have a partner that has allowed us to not only rely on them to find those difficult to source components but then do so in a competitive way, not just for our needs now but also into the future.
So I would recommend anybody who is in consumer electronics or I.O.T. or complicated smart home devices to look at engaging China Connect, Dennis and the team, because ultimately, we got them on board when we had finished the ideation process, we had a prototype and had no idea how to go and mass manufacture this to actually break into the market. That’s really where Dennis and the team shine, is that they can help you on that journey and avoid the pitfalls, it’s the thing that you can only really avoid with experience and that’s experience that you won’t have. So for us, I would recommend anybody that is in that space to engage China Manufacturing Connect (Electronics Manufacturing) as soon as possible, because the sooner you do it, the sooner you can gain the benefits from working with a team like that.”
